I read the essay on being offline is a privilege. It was such a good essay!! and I wanted to focus a bit on the vanishing online-born media point it is very true and very sad! I have noticed it too! I was looking for Art Attack episodes after 2014 when Disney acquired the show and there is no way to watch it except through buying a Disney subscription....maybe! I don't even know if they have it until I buy the subscription, but what are we without our memories? What does it really mean to be human and to experience stuff if everything you experience cannot be preserved? I know this sounds a bit too philosophical but lately I've really been thinking about this. If the modern world encourages to let go of everything except the very thing you experience this very moment and for that thing to be experienced for their benefit with no regard to our humanity ..isn't it like... hurting us? The reason we got this far as a species is because we were able to preserve and share knowledge and stuff. It's very important. I hope I didn't make you sad tho with this thought! You're awesome! I'm compiling our family archive with names/photos and geneology in preparation for donating it to the state archives where most of the family lived starting in the 1800s. Anyone, excluding commercial, can access it into the future. Fire and storms destroy history so we need access, not possession.
